About Us

DataRoamer is a product of Amthor Technologies Inc., a small software consulting firm with a passion for quality and with expertise in developing large online systems, performance tuning, and executive consulting.

DataRoamer was written by Amthor's CEO, Pieter Branderhorst. Pieter has over 30 years of software development experience. In Pieter's own words:

"Many times in my consulting work I've needed to quickly understand a complex database. I've often wished for a tool which would help me to understand and to explore a database, using its metadata to give me a structural representation I could easily navigate. Eventually I decided to produce such a tool.

"DataRoamer's core purpose is to enable simple intuitive exploration of a relational database's structure and data.

"The most important design principle in DataRoamer is ease of use. DataRoamer is intended to feel simpler than it is. Users familiar with databases should discover and be able to use most or all of DataRoamer's features without any help, and without even thinking much about the tool."
